Sammy is a documentary film editor guided by empathy and driven by an unshakable passion for the craft.

Over the last three years, he’s worked with Matthew Heineman on three documentary films, rising from an Assistant Editor on the J Balvin biopic THE BOY FROM MEDELLÍN (Amazon), to Co-Editor and Lead Assistant Editor on the Emmy-winning THE FIRST WAVE (National Geographic / Neon / Hulu), to Editor on AMERICAN SYMPHONY (Netflix).

In 2022, he worked with Pagan Harleman (also the showrunner of The First Wave) on a dynamic series for Disney+ following intrepid athletes pushing their limits called EDGE OF THE UNKNOWN WITH JIMMY CHIN, and with a massive team at Jigsaw Productions on The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast.

In 2019, his childhood dreams were realized when HIP HOP: THE SONGS THAT SHOOK AMERICA aired on AMC. It’s a doc series adaptation of Shea Serrano's NYT-bestselling book The Rap Year Book, and Sammy served as Assistant Editor. Black Thought, Questlove & Alex Gibney served as Executive Producers, with One9 & Erik Parker directing.
